Alla ricerca del treno di John Cage is a two-day project that links the project Transappenninica, the connotation of Porretta Città della Musica with the re-enactment of the 40th anniversary of John Cage’s Train. A historic steam train runs along the Bologna – Porretta Terme route equipped with audio video installations, electronic, popular, classical and rock music.
Roberto Paci Dalò performs with live electronics and electroacoustics in carriage #2. In the same carriage, the artist creates a sound installation, John & Morty: from the recordings of four conversations that took place in the studios of the WBAI radio station in New York – between July 1966 and January 1967 – the voices of John Cage and Morton Feldman resonate for the activity of the spectator who becomes a traveller, and sits among the ideas, laughter and silences of this extraordinary conversation.
Usmaradio alternates the incoming contribution of Zahra Mani – on live air from Istria – with outgoing streaming collecting sounds from the artists on board.
