De Bello Gallico – Enklave Rimini is a theatre-music show by Roberto Paci Dalò, specially designed for the extraordinary spaces of the Teatro Galli before its restoration. It is an engaging performance on the ruins of the theatre. The slogan is “The Galli Theatre, where it is as it is”.
De Bello Gallico – Enklave is a dramatic composition for voice, harpsichord and live electronics that offers an opportunity to learn about a piece of post-war history that no one tells us: the Enclave of Rimini.
The Galli Theatre was seriously bombed in 1944 and later sacked by the surviving civilians. Only in 2018 was it fully reopened to the public.
But in 2011, at the time of De Bello Gallico-Rimini Enklave, the old foyer of the theater still houses the ruins of the ancient bombing. Its grotesque-looking vestiges, similar to war trenches or air-raid shelters, inspire a composite work made of harpsichord, voice and electronics. The music is inspired by authors such as John Dowland and Coil. An incredible and unknown story is the leitmotif of the show. Roberto Paci Dalò through the live video, maps the space and repopulates it from soldiers, shadows, reverb lights and acoustics from the last century.
