It is a multi-format project by Giardini Pensili, the result of the collaboration between Roberto Paci Dalò and Gabriele Frasca, dedicated to and inspired by the poet, author and radio star Dylan Thomas (1914 – 1953). It is a multifaceted stage work, which includes a show, a conference, a performance, a live radio and a workshop. The aim is to launch, mix, decompose and multiply the voice of Dylan Thomas himself.

Writer and essayist, he wrote poems, autobiographical stories, as well as the famous radio and theatre drama Under Milk Wood, which won the Prix Italia in 1954.
The work by Roberto Paci Dalò and Gabriele Frasca is a sophisticated acoustic composition in which the fragments of Under milk Wood are mixed with the deafening noises of the bombardments and the intermittent frequencies of the radio. Moreover, many sound landscapes of post-war America are evoked in this work: from the sounds of the recording studios of the BBC, to the subversive and dissolute dramatic representations of the time; from the discreet promiscuity of the American colleges, to the inverse promiscuity of the provincial pubs, in a moment of unique cultural ferment for the contemporary music scene, due to the fatal combination of old and new acoustic technologies that give life, for example, to the free-jazz…
