Risvegli is a site-specific project of images, drawing and sound realized by Roberto Paci Dalò and Nicoletta Ceccoli for the National Pavilion of the Republic of San Marino at La Biennale di Venezia 59th International Art Exhibition.
Risvegli works on the equal relationship between different worlds. An interspecies dialogue where human, plant, animal and mineral find themselves, under the banner of mixing. The project of Roberto Paci Dalò consists of a drawing made directly on the wall of the Pavilion and a pre-existing one mounted on frame. These two artworks are flanked by three illustrations by Nicoletta Ceccoli depicting metamorphic girls with an animal soul.
An initiatory journey unfolds between light and darkness where the infinitely small and the infinitely large meet to cross a dream time and its rituals. These alchemical fairy tales are sensory and synaesthetic devices in which sound and listening build the acoustic architecture that prepares access to a world capable of evoking the myth present in everyday life. A world that is not made up of objects but of flows that penetrate us and that we penetrate, of waves of variable intensity and in perpetual movement. Knowing the world means breathing, breathing means savoring the world. A “multiphony”, as Adriana Cavarero would say, in which looks and faces appear that investigate the representation of art of all times. “What right do I have to be in the woods, if the woods are not in me?” (John Cage).
