Shadows is an urban video installation by Roberto Paci Dalò. Shadows, faces and hands are the materials that make up this work created by the artist for “spazio zero” at the Duomo Hotel in Rimini. The installation is visible only in the evening and at night when the silence amplifies the perception. The visitor who walks distractedly along via Giordano Bruno, in the heart of Rimini, suddenly finds himself observed from large faces and hands that emerge from the darkness indicating the way of the Temple.
Press kitIn a perceptive loop, “spazio zero” is the meeting place of the Duomo Hotel, which in its name already bears the Tempio Malatestiano, the cathedral, the “Temple” of Rimini. It is enough and it advances to fall into an alchemical temporal “trap”. This is how the Temple, one of the most fascinating and secret places in Rimini, meets a place of excellence of the present: the Duomo Hotel. The Hotel, designed by Ron Arad, one of the greatest contemporary designers and architects, relates to Dalò’s work through the digital medium.
Shadows is an urban, public work. The visitor is already a spectator: the installation of manifest to the passer-by as if it were a shop window. But in this case a very particular “shop”.
