Stelle della Sera is a play by Roberto Paci Dalò and Gabriele Frasca. The play is based on two texts by Gabriele Frasca, part of a collection called Tele and composed of five “tragedies”, as the authors call them, which reflect and stage the concept of catharsis. Stelle della sera provides for the dissolution of the scenic character and the progressive mise en scène of the spectator himself.
In Stelle della sera the entire theatrical environment, not just the stage, is transformed into a parallel and psychotic world of mises en abîmes. The development of catharsis is largely based on theatrical technologies (variously positioned sound diffusers, lights according to characters, music as a compositional element, etc.). The show involves not only the emotional reaction but also the physical and perceptive involvement of the audience who, from the quietness of their seat, end up being sucked in and “focused” on the screen in front of them.
